Winter is here and so are lots of great school holiday options to keep the kids entertained. From music camps to theatre performance, art workshops to public speaking and debating, there’s something to suit every family’s needs. But with places limited, book fast!

Music N Me Winter Music Camp, Mosman

Don’t just listen to music this school holidays – CREATE IT!

At Music N Me’s fun, interactive 3-day Winter Music Camp, your child will:

  • EXPLORE the Music Language
  • PLAY Popular Riffs and Tunes on the Piano
  • DISCOVER Bucket Drumming
  • CREATE Songs
  • PRODUCE Tracks

They’ll work individually and with fellow co-songwriters to compose their very own original production. From writing, performing to producing it on Garage Band – making music has never been easier!

Days are split into 4 sessions with morning tea (provided) and lunch (please bring) break. Family and friends are invited to attend our ‘Camp Finale Showcase’ on Day 3.

2 groups available – 6 to 9 years (Yr 1 to 3) and 9 to 12 years (Yr 4 to 6).
No experience necessary, just be ready to have lots of musical fun!

Agoston Art Studios Holiday Workshops, Mosman (still operating during lockdown)

We teach skills, supply all art materials and then encourage experimenting and exploring individual thinking and creativity / aesthetics / engineering problem solving / and having fun with the freedom of expression.

Daily themes include watercolour, clay and pottery wheel, volancoes (art meets science), sketching and experimenting with colour.

Dates: Monday to Friday from 21 June to 12 July

Art Attack Workshop: Clay Busts, Mosman Art Gallery

Explore the Upacara: Ceremonial Art from South East Asia exhibition and learn about the collection of terracotta head figures from Indonesia! Children will also learn how to work with clay to make their own bust from air-drying clay.

Acting, Singing & Recording Workshops, Crows Nest

Would your child love to help to create an original song and record it in our professional studio? Or dip their toe into the world of acting?

Brightsparks Performing Arts School is excited to be running two brand new Holiday Workshops these school holidays; Acting and Sing & Record. The Acting Workshop will be a 3-Day Intensive for children aged 7-12 years, run by Professional Actor, Anthony Yangoyan. Students will learn the art of improvisation, creating characters and performing scenes. There will also be lots of fun drama games along the way! Sing & Record is a 3-Day Workshop for children aged 10-15, where students will get the opportunity to record an original song or song of their choice in our professional studio with a sound engineer. This course will be run by Musical Theatre Performer and Vocal Coach Jessica Linsley, who will work with students to develop solo singing skills, vocal range and tone, expression and their own unique style as a singer.

Wild Ropes at Taronga Zoo

Swing, step and climb at Wild Ropes in Sydney’s iconic Taronga Zoo and wave a big hello to the koalas, emus and kangaroos at the Australian Walkabout. It’s the perfect activity for kids who love a fun challenge. The course can take from 45 minutes to two hours depending on the type of package and path you choose. Art Attack: Fabric Wall Hangings, Mosman Art Gallery

Working with artist Kate Dorrough the participants will learn about the tonal variations of water and sky. They will hand paint fabrics of different shades and textures and stitch them together to create their own fabric and collage wall hangings.

For children aged 9-13 years.

S’mores at The Greens, North Sydney

Do a little campsite cooking in the School Holidays around the campfires at The Greens!

The 13-Storey Treehouse, The Concourse Chatswood

Winter in The Domain

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Doman presents ‘’Winter in the Domain”, a festival experience showcasing music, culture and entertainment in the heart of Sydney

From June 25 to July 18, The Domain will transform into a winterland featuring two unique spaces – Big Top and Winterpark.

The Big Top will host a diverse range of live performances from some of the Australia’s best artists and include family-friendly concerts.

From June 26, the area surrounding the Big Top will be transformed into a free Winterpark with activities for visitors of all ages and heated outdoor spots to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to the Winterpark where you can glide along the ice rink, jump on the family-friendly rides and taste a range of delicious food and drinks these winter holidays.
