The Latest Places to Eat and Drink on the North Shore

Things are definitely looking bright on the dining and café scene on the North Shore, with a numbering of new openings in 2020. If you are looking to support some great new local businesses, here are a few hotspots that have hit our radar recently.

Henrys, Neutral Bay

Entering into the already bustling hub in Neutral Bay’s Grosvenor Street, Henrys is serving contemporary food and mouthwatering cocktails. Crossing over the bridge from Cronulla and hitting the north shore last month, the sharing menu has tastes of Asia colliding with South America. You can also indulge in one of the many delicious cocktails in the laidback surroundings, which echo the décor in their South Sydney counterpart.

Cadenza Floral Café, North Sydney

Having opened in early 2020, this North Sydney café is pretty as a picture. The venue is decked out in vibrant teal and pastel pink and features a huge floral wall. Aside from the dreamy fit out, the menu is proving a hit with its Korean/Australian fusion menus. There are sweet classics such as waffles and French toast, and more traditional Korean dishes including bulgogi bowls.

If you are looking to brighten things up after a morning of meetings in your North Sydney high rise, then Cadenza Floral Café could be the perfect antidote.

Greenhouse Asian Salads, North Sydney

They’ve already won a legion of admirers at their Lane Cove outpost, proving that you can win friends with salads. The latest store opened in early March and is brimming with the fresh produce and innovative salads that they are well known for. Greenhouse Asian Salads is the brainchild of owners Josef and Lanna. With her interest in clean and healthy eating, Lanna created salads for staff when working as a chef alongside Josef at Kirribilli Woodfire Kitchen. They were such a success that a new business idea was born for the duo and opened Greenhouse Asian Salads in Lane Cove. If you are looking for healthy and delicious choice to add to your North Sydney lunchtime roster, Greenhouse Asian Salads is likely to become a firm favourite.

Miller’s Kitchen, Cammeray

Not so much a new opening but a rebrand, Miller’s Kitchen has taken over the popular dining spot that used to be Wild Sage in Cammeray. Still under the same team, the name change brings with it a refreshed menu that includes their well-loved breakfast items until 3pm – think highly-instgrammable French toast served on beautiful crockery or a stack of kale and corn fritters. Service runs from breakfast to a late lunch and dinner with a great kids menu is available from Wednesday until Sunday.

Gram Café and Pancake, Chatswood

Just over in Chatswood, the Japanese sensation has been seeing queues out of the door since their opening in February. It’s the home of the soufflé pancake, and lucky for us the first Australian outpost is right here on our doorstep – controls are so tight in Japan that customers are only allowed one serve of pancakes per day! There are a few different versions of the pillowy fluffy treats, as well as a selection of smoothies and parfaits. It’s a great spot for dessert, as long as you don’t mind a crowd.
