Adventure Camp, Northbridge, Chowder Bay and Cockatoo Island
Adventure Camp is what parents and children dream of when it comes to a school holiday activity. With the tagline ‘No kids left inside’, there is also an amazing philosophy that runs through the core of the program. “We believe that kids learn through adventure and the best adventures are had outdoors. As parents we want our kids to be able to gain great life skills and learn to feel safe and have fun outdoors. That’s why we started Adventure Camp.” These holidays, there are three Camps to choose from, in three convenient locations around Sydney:
Chowder Bay Adventure Camp: Mon Jan 21- Wed 23; 8am-5.30pm
Based from the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS), Chowder Bay, there will be new activities, challenges and stories – but with plenty of outdoor adventure. With the weather warming up, water-based games are making a return – including rafting, snorkeling and swimming (wetsuits provided).
Northbridge Adventure Camp: Mon Jan 7 – Wed Jan 9 or Mon Jan 14 – Wed 16; 8.30am-5.30pm
Held at Northbridge Sailing Club, Bethwaite Lane, Northbridge. The 3-day camp will be action packed with plenty of outdoor fun and games – and no iPads in sight! With warm weather expected sailing is on, as well as swimming and water games – plus some new challenges.
Cockatoo Island Adventure Camp: Thurs Jan 10 – Friday 11 or Thurs 17 – Fri 18; 8.30am-5.30pm
Kids will explore tunnels, learn about the history of the Island and solve a mystery of 1920’s gangland Sydney… There will be plenty of water-based activities (and a short trip over to Greenwich Baths for swimming, snorkeling and rafting – wetsuits provided), plus team-work challenges and our trademark Prize Auction to finish up!
You can drop-off and pick up your kids at either Balmain Ferry Wharf, Greenwich Point Ferry Wharf, Woolwich Ferry Wharf or on Cockatoo Island.
Good to Know: Adventure Camp is for boys and girls in primary school, aged 7-12. The day is generally broken up into four separate periods of activity – and plenty of rest is provided for lunch, morning & afternoon tea and drinks. Each Adventure Camp is run by highly experienced staff and instructors who work with children on a daily basis. All staff hold current First Aid certificates, and have completed a ‘Working with Children’ check. There is also an Adventure Camp Rewards & Referral Program! CIY Club Website Design, 3D Printing & Game Coding Workshops, Mosman
CIY.Club school holiday events are for kids aged 9-13. It’s a place for children to train to be creators of technology, from the beginner through to tech genius.
The first summer school holiday event is a two Day Website Design and 3D Printing Camp. Participants explore a mixture of exciting topics in digital technologies.
Website Design: Learn the basics of website design, a widely sought-after skill in today’s tech age! 3D Printing and Design: Learn the basics of three-dimensional design. The second summer school holiday event is a two day Game Coding Camp.
Game Coding: Learn the basics of computer coding and game creation; kids will learn to put together different games including graphics and basic coding to make it interactive. Games can be taken home and continued to be developed. The two day Game Coding Camp is for beginners and those with prior experience. The content within will allow work on different games as kids progress, learning the foundations of the coding within!

Action Adventure Holiday Camp, Mosman Martial Arts Academy
Has your child ever expressed an interest in Martial Arts? These Action Adventure Holiday Camps are a great place to start! Rockpool Ramble, Balmoral Beach
Learn about life in the harbour by exploring Mosman rockpools. Led by a marine biologist, you will have the chance to discover some of the animals that are found along the Mosman foreshore. You will have the chance to get up and close with some of the animals that make up the rocky intertidal zone, and learn how the animals interact together.

Good to Know: These wonderful events book out fast (the first two in January are already full!) so book quick. Good to Know: The courses on offer are for children ages 6-15. Classes are kept small to ensure lots of practice in a welcoming atmosphere, and are taught by an experienced coach. Whilst classes normally run between 9am to 3pm, parents are able to leave their children at the venue until 5pm for a small fee.

Big Music Holiday Rock Camp, Crows Nest
If your child has ever dreamed of being in a rock band, or just really likes music – Big Music at Crows Nest is the place to be these school holidays. Primrose Park Tennis is located on the northern side of Neutral Bay and Cremorne, at historic Primrose Park. Their popular school holiday tennis camps keep kids engaged and active, and they focus on fun as well as skills and drills. Each camp includes coaching, team events, games, and singles and doubles tournaments. There are trophies and sports awards and each child receives a cap.

Mosman Library always offers great workshops for kids during school holidays – this summer kids can learn programming, then build robots and then battle them! “One, Two, Three, Four, now we start our Robot War! In this workshop participants will be taught fundamentals in programming and building robots. They will then be challenged to build combat robots of their own design to compete against each other to determine the victor.” Sounds amazing!

Could your children’s resilience do with a top up? Are you keen for them to do something fun and educational these school holidays? Send them to one of our popular Resilience Camps! We will be running our Calm, Confidence and Friendship Camps for kids in years K-6 from 8.30 – 3.30 at Northbridge Library, Whoosh Club Neutral Bay and Annandale Community Centre.
We do a range of activities in our camps, including drama, art, music, storytelling, movement, breathing and games. In our Calm Camp we give children a toolkit of skills to help them manage uncomfortable feelings. In our Confidence Camp we explore a range of tools to help build their sense of self-worth. In our Friendship Camp we teach kids how to make healthy friendship choices and navigate the playground.
Good to Know: It doesn’t matter if you have previously attended one of our camps as we will be exploring new and fresh content (but also keeping those favourites that kids love). You also don’t need to be attending our term-time workshops in order to benefit from attending. Wondering whether to do our camps and our term-time workshops? Absolutely! Children enjoy the mix of new and familiar games and activities.

Disco Ice Skating and Learn to Skate, North Ryde
How lucky are we to have an ice skating rink just a short drive away! Ice skating is always a super fun school holiday activity, and what a great way to stay cool in summer. Sydney’s largest rink (it’s a full size Olympic rink) is located in Macquarie Shopping Centre and is open every day of the year apart from Christmas Day. It’s been operating for over 30 years and underwent a major makeover just last year. These school holidays you can head along for fun Disco Skate sessions, or join in one of their school holiday ‘Learn To Skate’ programs.
Good to Know: Registration for the school holiday Learn to Skate is from 8:30am to 9:00am each day. Pre-bookings are essential and can be made by calling 9888 1100. General skating has session times too and these are subject to change during summer holidays, so make sure you check the website for dates and times.
Cost: Entry for skating: General Admission: Adult $22 Students $21 Child (U16) $20. Skate hire $5.00.
